FIELD NOTES
Field Notes is a reading club series exploring critical studies in the physical and social structures of our spatial surroundings and helping our sensibility to examine those structures’ meanings.
FIELD THEORIES
Field Theories is a digital lecture and workshop series developed to dissect, investigate, and envision new possibilities for design, buildings, and the cities we live in. It aims to broaden the social and political consciousness of everyone involved in the making of our lived environments, and to foreground diverse and alternative perspectives not typically represented in mainstream design media. In line with monthly topics related to our Field Talks podcast series, and Field Notes reading club, Field Theories presents an opportunity for discourse on the role of design, architecture, landscape architecture and urban planning in creating more equitable futures.
FIELD TALKS
Field Talks is our podcast, produced in partnership with CJSW 90.9 FM, the UCalgary Campus Radio Station. In our podcast we will break down academic topics covered in the Field Notes book club and Field Theories Lecture Series for the general public, to engage the broader community in our conversations surrounding equity and social justice. We will host 1 podcast per month, one month behind the theme scheduling for the lecture series and book club - this way the podcast acts as a reflection on topics covered in the other two programs.
